Outdoor Space

Outcome four of the Early Years Learning Framework encourages that children be provided with the opportunity to engage in the natural environment to help them develop an appreciation for the environment around them.  Both of Kensington Castle's centres have large outdoor play areas designed to allow children to engage in safe physical play in environments that will include trees, grass, bike paths, climbing areas, huge sand pits and, in the warmer months, even a running stream that children can dam and play in.

Kensington Castle follows the NSW Cancer Council Sun Smart Program and focuses on instilling lifelong sun protection habits.  The centre requires all staff and children to wear the appropriate sun smart clothing, apply sunscreen and will limit outdoor play time to sun safe times of the day.
